We want to prevent the risks of a society manipulated by a handful of private technology behemoths, that could effectively shape the course of history for the worst and make us digital slaves in a world where technology is everything.
It's necessary to have a democratic alternative to the private technology solutions, because the underlying basic infrastructure of society has to be owned by the population, and not by a few individuals.
This is extremely important in order to effectively prevent the beginning of a technological tyranny.
